Bybit, the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced its sponsorship of the inaugural Ethereum "Attackathon," a global hackathon focused on enhancing the security of the Ethereum protocol.
This eight-week event, organized by the Ethereum Foundation and Immunefi, aims to conduct a large-scale crowdsourced security audit and is expected to raise over $2 million, including $500,000 in seed capital from the organizers.

Bybit's contribution of 75 ETH marks the largest sponsorship to date for the Attackathon, underscoring its commitment to fostering innovation and security within the Web3 ecosystem. Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Bybit, stated, "Our sponsorship aligns with our mission to support the security and sustainability of ecosystems vital to the global crypto community".
The Attackathon will gather experts from the Ethereum community to assess and improve the protocol's code, ultimately contributing to a safer and more resilient network.
