•
PostFinance launches Ethereum staking, allowing customers to earn rewards with 0.1 ETH.
•
Staked Ethereum will be locked for 12 weeks before rewards are distributed.
•
Switzerland’s growing interest in digital assets aligns with PostFinance’s expanding crypto services.

Swiss bank PostFinance has launched Ethereum staking, allowing customers to earn passive income. This move strengthens PostFinance’s presence in Switzerland’s growing digital asset market, providing a simple way for customers to engage with decentralized finance.
Ethereum Staking Opens New Doors
PostFinance now lets customers stake as little as 0.1 ETH. By doing so, users help validate blockchain transactions and earn rewards. However, the bank requires staked Ethereum to remain locked for at least 12 weeks before users receive any rewards.
Currently, Ethereum is the only token available for staking. PostFinance plans to offer more tokens in the future. This launch builds on the bank's efforts to expand its crypto services.
In 2023, PostFinance partnered with Sygnum Bank, giving 2.5 million customers access to buy, sell, and store digital assets. By 2024, the bank also began offering crypto trading and custody services.
Growing Crypto Interest in Switzerland
PostFinance’s new service arrives as digital assets gain more attention in Switzerland. A recent proposal suggests the Swiss National Bank (SNB) should hold Bitcoin as part of its reserves.
While the SNB is skeptical, Switzerland remains a global leader in blockchain development. The canton of Bern is even considering the role of Bitcoin mining to help improve energy efficiency.
PostFinance’s decision to add Ethereum staking shows its commitment to digital finance. As the crypto space continues to grow, Switzerland stands at the forefront of innovation.
