Metaplanet Teams Up with SBI VC Trade for ¥30M Bitcoin Reward Program

Metaplanet has partnered with SBI VC to launch an exciting Bitcoin rewards program for shareholders, offering ¥30 million worth of BTC. This reward is available to shareholders who hold at least 100 Metaplanet shares (MTPLF) by December 31.

Program Details and Eligibility

The program will reward 2,350 eligible shareholders based on their holdings. Fifty of them will receive ¥100,000 in Bitcoin. Another 100 will get ¥30,000, and 2,200 will receive ¥10,000 each. 

Shareholders must register for the program and open an account with SBI VC Trade by March 31, 2025. 

Bitcoin rewards will be credited by late April 2025, with amounts determined by Bitcoin’s price on April 15, 2025. 

Simon Gerovich, Metaplanet’s CEO, said the reward program is part of a larger goal. The company aims to get more people in Japan to experience Bitcoin. By giving away free Bitcoin, Metaplanet wants to increase adoption and create awareness.

Market Impact and Future Prospects

The announcement of the program has already stirred excitement in the market. Metaplanet’s stock rose by more than 6% following the news. Year-to-date, Metaplanet’s stock has surged a massive 1,360%, driven by its Bitcoin strategy. 

Experts predict the stock could hit 3,000 JPY, a level seen earlier in May. Metaplanet continues to grow as a major player in Japan’s crypto landscape. The company now holds 1,142 BTC, worth over $109 million. 

Recently, Metaplanet raised ¥9.5 billion to expand its Bitcoin holdings further. This move ensures the company’s commitment to Bitcoin, which strengthens its position in the crypto world.
