Hut 8 Launches Next-Gen ASIC Miner U3S21EXPH with Bitmain

Hut 8 Corp., a leading North American cryptocurrency mining company, has announced the launch of the next-generation ASIC miner, the U3S21EXPH, developed in partnership with Bitmain Technologies.

This innovative miner is set to be deployed in a new data center with a capacity of 15 exahashes per second (EH/s) in the second quarter of 2025.

The U3S21EXPH boasts impressive specifications, achieving a hashrate of 860 terahashes per second (TH/s) while operating at an efficiency of 13 joules per terahash (J/TH). Notably, it features direct liquid-to-chip cooling technology, enhancing its performance and reliability during operation. This cooling method is typically used in high-performance computing environments, making the U3S21EXPH a significant advancement in ASIC mining technology.

As part of the agreement, Hut 8 will have the option to purchase all or part of the hosted miners at a fixed price within six months of their activation. This strategic move allows Hut 8 to manage capital expenditures effectively while expanding its mining capabilities.

Hut 8's CEO, Asher Genoot, emphasized that this partnership not only strengthens their position in Bitcoin mining but also aligns with their broader strategy to integrate AI into data center operations.

The collaboration marks a pivotal step towards maximizing returns on power assets and enhancing infrastructure for future technologies.
